Responsible use of Company’s Computing Resource

Hi All,

This is to remind everyone that the Company’s computing resources (including internet service) are provided to assist us in the performance of our jobs and is to be used for legitimate business purposes.

These resources (e.g. network bandwidth and storage capacity) are limited and all users connected to our network are responsible to use these resources in a professional, lawful and ethical manner.  As such, users must not deliberately perform acts that waste computer resources or unfairly monopolize resources to the exclusion of others. These include, but are not limited to the following:

  • playing games,
  • engaging in online chat groups or other social media,
  • uploading or downloading large files,
  • accessing streaming audio and/or video files, or
  • otherwise creating unnecessary loads on network traffic that is not business-related.

Priority should be given to critical applications and services which keep the business running. Using it for purposes other than business related is deemed in-appropriate and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Kindly cascade this information to your respective team(s).

Please let us know if there’s any question/concern. Otherwise, please be guided accordingly.

Thank you.
